And once I blink......

these past few months have felt like minutes.....I have pushed away fear of the unknown and replaced it with truly following my destiny!!! I feel as if I have truly matured and grown into a better photographer. I decided to make the move back down to SoCal....I had a decent time in Sacramento...but I feel my art hit glass ceilings there. Although I am not living in LA....Irvine is certainly close enough!....and far enough when I need to get away from the plastic, toxic and liars!!! Immediately the projects started rolling in!

Linking up with rapper/actor/model Don Benjamin, I directed a music video for his track "Avery Johnson". He had some amazing bball friends come through and bring the energy to the piece. This project is currently in the editing stage and should in the can by next month!

We shot the first day of this gigantic production I will forever be proud of. Don has this track called "Zombieland". After listening to it the first time, I immediately thought of Michael Jackson's (RIP) "Thriller" short film/music video. So now we paying homage to MJ and going the whole short film/music video route! It's a challenge.....but what is the point of not pushing yourself...why not challenge yourself? I am all in and Don is ride or die with me. The first day shooting was AMAZING...the zombie make-up, on point. Everyone was there for the cause....no attitudes...nothing negative to speak on!  This Sunday, November 27th is the final shoot for the project. After viewing what was shot, I have but the best to say about this new crew. I met Justin Huang during a photo shoot for him. Later learning he's into video production1! yes!! He has a crew, Justin Kemper, Josh, Evan and we all immediately hit it off!! They are editing "Avery Johnson" and work as crew/dp/ producers as well! We will shortly get into serious discussion over creating our own production company. I know this will take time / money / patience....but once again..you have to go for what you want in life!

So far, met one person, here in Irvine. Johnny Lee. Real kewl person. Understands the life of the entertainment business. He used to do backup dancing for music video artists...so when we can, we hang out and chill at his place...where he has a bar!! LOL

Now I am also in talks with D3 ThaRockStar from Long Beach. We are discussing me directing some music videos for him..so we will check up on it. He and his crew are pretty thich in numbers and talented so hopefully this is leading to alot of projects! I am down if they are down!!

S.A.D.  -so far all plans are happening to make this book a reality. I talked with AI teach Mr. Jeff Eamer about website design and we will get more into specifics as that time nears!! But big plans are in the works....travels to Las Vegas and Arizona included.....go hard or go home!!!

A new #beginning

isnt it funny how a great weekend can put some new energy and vibe in your system? This weekend I have been blessed with finding an editor to knock out the photos for my poetry book! He edited a photo right before my eyes and made it dazzle! I was at a lost for words!!!

It's take me quite some time to get to this point...I still was thinking for the past couple of weeks I can formulate a great, loving relationship......and yet it always seems the heart falls for the wrong ones....so now I need this time and space to do my own thing. Who wants half a friend? Not I......if we having communications and the #vibe is going well....we should maintain great communication.....but when I am reaching out to you without ANY reply.....trust and believe I get hints will quick....and even quicker to ensure I stop attempting to contact "bug" you. I am self-contained and only need friendships from friends.....so if this person wants to remain in the "friend" #category and not willing to explore a closer, intimate relation...it's hard but I can adapt...but not contacting me back at all......tells more than just, we should be f#riends......so another chapter is closed before the pen was even placed on the paper!!!! lol

Which fuels me to focus on my goals and aspirations: The next couple music videos, photo shoots and my poetry book.

some cigarettes

We all have experienced...you're walking down the street.....minding your business.....the weather is nice....beautiful, brazen sun peeking in and out of the fluffy, scattered clouds......a breeze blowing lightly on your forehead and dancing around in the sleeves of your shirt, climbing up towards the shoulders and under the arms....a perfect moment to be at peace with your surroundings...and then..it just hits you..

Out of seemingly nowhere....a toxin, invisible smell of potential death...a moth group of slick, evil smoke from someone else's cigarette invading your lungs, eyes and clothes...it sears the throat...throws slivers in my eyes....and can ruin a great moment of serenity....well

This happened to my heart....I have a friend....whom I never saw being in my life more than my friend....quickly how smoke comes from nowhere and takes you away from a peaceful....like how quickly the heart can become a victim of itself....and throw me in the middle....eyes burning....throat churning...... veins quickly pulsing...because as I once saw a friend only as a friend.....has seem to evolved.....out of seemingly nowhere.

Now, how do I get this smoke out of my eye. I do I assure this thought is not a lie. I..... we.....no I gotta work it out.....too late for a turnabout because now this smoke is all in the sweat spot of my clothes.....and now the future no one knows.

I need to escape this situation that I am in....I need to find out if you see us being more then friends....

some cigarettes...just so dangerous.

All in moment

well, April 1st, Quar officially became my name!!! Legally!!  

So much has gone down...the big plans now is the trip to New York........3 weeks of photography Heaven. I am contacting models, Stylists, etc....to have soo many plans, I won't sleep for the time being there......

Here, we are planning the next music video shoot.....Ray Dogg featuring Matt Blaque....this will probably end up being my last freebie.....It's been fun, but now the payment needs to compliment the work......so if the artist doesn't have funds for a project then maybe they need to work on their Celebrity Apprentice calling people skills and gather some up!

Last Sunday....Hell day...was shooting model Stephen and traveling from location to location......one stop for some dumb reason, I placed my camera on top of my car while I walked around checking out ideal spots to shoot......I started driving off......leaving the camera on top of the car.....and it flew right off.....  

The D5100 is out of commission....

The poetry book is coming along very well. I think I am going to stick with the title: S.A.D. : situations and dilemmas... I have about 5 of the poems with the corresponding photo shoots completed...and now hoping to complete some of this work while in New York!
The California shoots with Justin Basilio, Cisco Yociso and David Pham was very fun and great end results...I do not know how contempt I am with the end results of Tasha and Anthony's shoot though.... 

Have some very, very interesting models lined up!!!

ok, gotta prep for the Dirty 30 shoot. Gia wants to shoot in the mud/dirt!!! This cold, windy Sunday morning!
